The Blink of an Eye Captured for a Lifetime.

This is just silliness at it's best. I think we could all use a little silliness. This silly guy captures screen shots of people blinking on TV.

Go forth and consume more blinking silliness.

We are Zogg.

"In a Beautiful Mind moment of schizophrenic clarity I saw the book for what it was: not a gentle introduction to life's most profound curiosity, but a primer for the parasitic offspring of an invisible invasion!"

Zogg secrets revealed!!!

Discover the awful truth for yourself by reading this translated version of "My Little Golden Book About God". Perhaps with a better understanding of what this "cuddly menace" intend to do to our planet, we may discover an opportunity to thwart them.

Senior Citizens deserve better than to be enslaved to the Zogg!

So prepare thyself and seek out the truth about Zogg.

Hey Sockbaby...

If you are anything like me than you will most definitely appreciate the surreal oddity that is the Sockbaby series.

Who is Sockbaby?! He is the future savior of the Sockpeople of course! If that is not enough to entice you to download the videos, then hear this; there is no finer example of cul-de-sac karate than that contained in the Sockbaby series.

And by the way, it was written and produced by Doug TenNapel of Earthworm Jim fame.

"Moichendizing, moichendizing..."

"Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the website is made.

Monkey Bandit-the T-shirt, Monkey Bandit-the Coloring Book, Monkey Bandit-the Lunch box, Monkey Bandit-the Breakfast Cereal, Monkey Bandit-the Flame Thrower!"

Hello all, I decided to make a Monkey Bandit Gift Shop (duh). I made the shop primarily for my own amusement being that I only make a buck or two per item sold. But if you see something you just got'sta have (you know you want a Monkey Bandit Throw Pillow)!

As it says in the Monkey Bandit Gift Shop, "You too can be Monkey Bandit fabulous!"

After Vinyl, but before CD's...

Just the other night I was waxing nostalgic about the age of the cassette tape. There was something intrinsically cool about the feel and practicality of these magnetic wonders. We speak today of something being user friendly, when arguably there has been no other medium as accessible as the audio cassette tape.

When the walkman met the cassette tape we received our first real opportunity to personalize our music while on the go. And what better way was there for an adolescent boy to tell a girl “I think your neat and purty and smell nice too,” then the gift of a mix tape.

Well if you ever played DJ with a tape recorder or saved a little piece of your childhood imagination on a plastic cassette; then you may want to visit Project C-90. It’s a webpage dedicated to archiving cassette tapes.

“The era of this particular medium is slowly passing, and here we are trying to turn back time for 60 minutes… or, maybe, for 90...”

The Monkey Bandit wants to hear your blank tape stories.

Roadkill on the Information Highway

Here is a really cool site that has a full catalog of stills from websites that are no longer with us.

"Ghost Sites was launched in early 2000; it is an image gallery of some 1,250 screens captured from some 900 Web projects that for various reasons 'went dark' during the years 1998 to 2004. Some had a chance to post a self-penned epitaph in the form of a 'farewell screen'; others simply expired and drifted lifelessly, with no visible indications for their demise - often for many months."

"This collection provides a partial, but revealing look at the latter half of the Web's 10 years of existence."

Here's a few the dearly departed that caught my eye:
planetalderaan.com
napster.com
side show bob's cavalcade of whimsy

Please join the Monkey Bandit and remember those websites that are no longer with us by visiting their remains at Ghost Sites.

I know Kung-Fu. Show me.

Okay, for those of you who have not bared witness to the greatness that is Stephen Chow's Shaolin Soccer, allow me to clue you in.

Back in 2001 a fellow by the name of Stephen Chow wrote, directed, and starred in Shaolin Soccer. The plot is similar to many other sports related movies. Think of The Bad News Bears, but instead of foul-mouthed, pre-pubescent adolescents; it has kung-fu fighting, cigarette-smoking, Shaolin monks (natch)!

Shaolin Soccer is an oddly funny, clever movie that is guaranteed to make you smile. I have not yet seen the English dubbed version, but the original with subtitles is great. Click the poster above to see the trailer.

And once your all caught up with your Stephen Chow homework, you can prepare yourself for his new film which is once again blowing away Hong-Kong box office records; Kung-Fu Hustle. Click the poster below to see the trailer.

Four out of Five Monkey Bandits agree, "Stephen Chow is Kung-Fu-tastic!"

"I'm Breakin' in the Rain."

I would like to say that this ad from the folks at Volkswagen featuring the late Gene Kelly is cinema sacrilege, but I am unable to comply with that urge because the video looks so freaking sweet.

If your adequately prepared for an alternate version of "Singing in the Rain" then check it out, the Monkey Bandit commands you!

Gene Kelly gets all kinds of jiggy in the rizzain.
